Wider Perspectives V
Covid and the lockdown of billions of people changed our lives and started our thinking about Wider Perspectives, which takes the form of a Shakespearean play with plotline twists, big morality themes and lessons to be learned. In Act V, Roger Urwin and the team share their views on the making and taking of fresh tracks – wider perspectives on work, our industry and you:
Act I had three defining moments: COVID proved truly deadly and disruptive, climate change “arrived” and then issues of social and racial justice deepened
Act II made us climb to a new view of changed surroundings
Act III found us extremely fatigued and stressed with a sense of loss of control and life just happening to us. But the human spirit showed its optimistic mettle with a determination to adapt
Act IV had climate change, deepening the Russia/Ukraine conflict arriving and COVID’s grip relented a little but continues with its long goodbye.
