CAIA London, in partnership with the Thinking Ahead Institute (TAI), hosted a candid and forward-looking panel discussion that explored the evolution from Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) to the Total Portfolio Approach (TPA).
Moderated by Aaron Filbeck, Managing Director, Global Content Strategy of CAIA Association, the session brought together Roger Urwin, Co-founder of TAI, and Jayne Bok, Head of WTW Investments, Asia, along with senior investment leaders from USS and Railpen. They shared lessons learned, common hurdles and the cultural shifts required to move from theory to implementation.
The conversation unpacked how leading institutions had evolved their processes to embrace TPA—whether participants were just beginning the journey, refining their approach, or increasingly interacting with asset owners on this subject.
