Graduate rotation with the Institute

Willis Towers Watson employee Sophia Harper talks about her experience of doing a two week graduation rotation with the Institute.

I am in my first year of Willis Towers Watson’s Investment graduate scheme, in the Delegated Services Team focussing on some of the Fiduciary Best Ideas clients and the Equity Portfolio Management Group. As part of the Scheme you are given the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in a completely different team within the Investments Line of Business for 2 weeks, and hence I chose to spend these with the Thinking Ahead Group (TAG), in order to gain a valuable insight into a more holistic, conceptual perspective of the investment industry. (TAG is a global research and innovation hub that addresses some of the most prevalent issues within the asset management industry and translates this into the production of research papers and events for its members to bring about transformational change in the industry for the better.) The rotation gave me an insight into a completely new experience of the Marketing side of the Institute, in which I helped produce video, social media and website content for the upcoming virtual event, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Furthermore, I particularly appreciated the opportunity to meet a wide range of people within the Group, allowing me to expand my network that I hope to maintain in the future.
